Portuguese - Beginner

Course Description

This is a standard class that meets once per week for 8 consecutive weeks: October 14 – December 9 (*No class November 25th in recognition of Thanksgiving holiday). Introduces basic phrases and vocabulary with an emphasis on pronunciation and fundamental grammar in Brazilian Portuguese. Students will learn to introduce themselves and talk about their daily activities. Topics: family, work, studies, and travel Objectives: definite and indefinite articles, pronouns, possessive pronouns, numbers, colors, simple nouns and adjectives, gender and number agreement, the simple present tense, and the use of "ser" and "estar" Textbook: Ponto de Encontro, 2nd Edition, Preliminary Lesson–Chapter 2
