
Haitian Creole - High Beginner 2

Course Description
This is a standard class that meets once per week for 8 consecutive weeks: November 3 – December 29 (*No class December 22nd in recognition of the Christmas holiday.) For those who have completed the High Beginner 1 course or who have a strong foundation in Haitian Creole, this class will build on basic phrases and vocabulary with an emphasis on pronunciation, grammar, and simple conversation skills. Short stories and texts will also be introduced to improve reading comprehension. Topics: clothing, nature, food, traditions, and transportation Objectives: months of the year, seasons, relative clauses, modal auxiliaries, food vocabulary, comparatives and superlatives, expressions of quantity, adverbs, dependent clauses, modal verbs, weather expressions, serial verbs, and demonstratives Textbook: Ann Pale Kreyòl, 2nd edition
