French - Intermediate 1

Course Description

This is a standard class that meets for 8 consecutive weeks: May 26 – July 21 (*No class June 23rd). Students will learn about different cultural points such as French traditions and holidays. Both written material and videos will be used to improve reading and oral comprehension. More complex grammar topics will be introduced and will build off the foundation of previous levels. Students will learn vocabulary to become conversant on a wide range of subjects. Topics: vacation, holidays, shopping, the household, art, and literature Objectives: the imperative, the impersonal (c’est and il est), negative forms, gerundives, double-object pronouns Textbook: Contacts (8th Edition), Lessons 16-19
