Course Description
This is a standard class that meets once per week for 6 consecutive weeks: November 12 – December 17. Perfect for those who have completed the Beginner level or who have a solid foundation in Brazilian Portuguese, this course focuses on improving students’ abilities in conversation, listening, pronunciation, and reading comprehension. Using authentic dialogues, targeted listening exercises, and short narrative texts, students will increase their fluency and cultural understanding in a variety of everyday contexts. Topics: hobbies, interests, like/dislikes, and food Objectives: infinitive verbs (-ar, -er, - ir), the simple past tense, direct and indirect object pronouns, interrogatives, prepositions, expressing likes and dislikes using the verb gostar, the use of a gente vs. nós, and the use of conhecer vs. saber Textbook: Ponto de Encontro, 2nd Edition, Chapters 3–5
