Mandarin - Intermediate 3
Thursdays 7:45-9:15 PM (ET)
Course Description
This is a standard class that meets once per week for 8 consecutive weeks: February 5 – March 26. This course further develops intermediate skills. Key areas include describing the frequency and duration of actions, and making comparisons. Students learn to talk about how many times something has happened and how long it has been happening, and master comparative sentences to express differences or equality (using 比 and expressions like “as... as”). The course also teaches how to describe personal experiences using the “过” form (for example, places you have been or jobs you have done). By the end of the course, learners can discuss their experiences, make comparisons, and describe ongoing activities confidently in Chinese. Level: CEFR A2 / HSK2 Textbook: New Concept Chinese 2, Lessons 21–30
