Mandarin - Beginner

Course Description

This is a standard class that meets once per week for 8 weeks: February 2 – March 23. Introduces the fundamentals of the Chinese language including Pinyin, four tones, eight basic strokes, and elementary grammar. Each lesson will include basic reading, writing, listening and speaking exercises. Level: HSK1 / CEFR: A0-A1 Topics: greetings, nationalities, occupations, hobbies, and routines Objectives: introductions, personal pronouns, simple adjectives and adverbs, forming basic sentencing and questions, describing people physically, Chinese last name and first name positions, and numbers 1-10 Textbook: New Concept Chinese 1, five mini chapters including Lessons 1-10
