Italian - Intermediate 1

Course Description

This is a standard class that meets once per week for 8 consecutive weeks: September 23 – November 18. *No class on Indigenous People's Day (October 14)* Students will learn about different cultural points such as Italian traditions and holidays. Both written material and videos will be used to improve reading and oral comprehension. Focus will also be on vocabulary development, complex grammar topics, and speaking practice. Topics: vacation, holidays, shopping, the household, art, literature, music, and theater Objectives: the imperative, negative forms, the use of ne and ci, the impersonal si, double-object pronouns, indefinite adjectives, and indefinite pronouns, the conditional tense (present and past), relative pronouns, ordinal numbers, and the use of volerci and metterci Textbook: Prego! (8th Edition), Chapters 10-15
