Course Description
This is a standard class that meets once per week for 8 consecutive weeks: March 24 – May 12. This level builds upon the foundation begun in the High Beginner 1 course by focusing on dialogue, listening skills, and accent improvement. More complex reading material and writing exercises will be introduced. Students will learn to distinguish between different verb tenses in relation to describing actions in the past and future. Videos and songs will also be used to improve oral comprehension. • Topics: cooking, restaurants, giving directions, and the weather • Objectives: the simple past tense, prepositions, food/cooking vocabulary, weather vocabulary, the comparative and superlative, and conjunctions Textbook: Deutsch - Na klar!, 7th Edition, Chapter 4–5
