German - High Beginner 1

Course Description

This is a standard class that meets once per week for 8 consecutive weeks: December 2 - January 26 (*No class on December 23rd in recognition of the Christmas holiday.) This level is designed for students who have completed the Beginner German course or who have some basic experience in German. Building upon a solid foundation in grammar, this level focuses on dialogue, listening skills, and accent improvement. Short stories and texts will also be introduced to improve reading comprehension. • Topics - hobbies, interests, like/dislikes, and food • Objectives - the accusative case, the dative case, verbs with separable prefixes, modal auxiliaries, the simple interrogative, and the imperative Textbook: Deutsch - Na klar!, 7th Edition, Chapter 2–3
