Course Description

This is a standard class that meets once per week for 8 consecutive weeks: March 13 – May 1. For students who have completed the Beginner course or who have some prior experience in the language, this course builds upon the foundation begun in the previous level and focuses on expanding students’ vocabularies and knowledge of phrases. Each lesson will include reading and writing exercises accompanied by listening and speaking topics. Level: HSK1 / CEFR: A1 Topics: family, simple directions, compliments, Chinese holidays, food, travel, and seasons Objectives: use of “to have,” particle words, month/date/week/year/seasons vocabulary, use of “how” and “what,” measure words, and numbers 11-100, colors, expressing and asking for opinions, and describing personalities Textbook: New Concept Chinese 1, Lessons 11-20
